Bullfighting is a well-known tradition in some places in Spain. But it could be in danger of disappearing due to a fall in public finance and lack of interest. Nowadays, many Spaniards, especially the youngest, no longer have interest in it.
According to data from the World Animal Protection, 84 percent of people aged between 16 and 24 are ashamed of living in a country with bullfighting. Some local governments have reduced or removed the financial aid.
However, people from the bullfighting sector are calling for union to preserve the tradition.
It remains to be a controversial issue for Spaniards that involves different opinions on animal abuse, tradition and culture.
