Union Minister Nirmala Seetharaman reacting on the Ishrat Jahan controversial case, the first affidavit submitted to the Gujarat High Court in 2009 about Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) links of Ishrat Jahan and her accomplices, and the reference of Ishrat Jahan being a LeT missing from the second affidavit, and both the affidavits bearing the signature of former Home Minister P Chidambaram, said Chidambaram owes an explanation to the country.
The UPA government had submitted two affidavits in the Ishrat Jahan alleged encounter case. The first affidavit said that the four people including Ishrat, who were killed in an alleged fake encounter, were terrorists. While in the second affidavit filed within two months the government made a complete U-turn and said that there was no conclusive evidence to say they were terrorists.
