The Islamic State group has cut off a key supply route between Syria’s Homs and the ancient city of Palmyra. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the road was cut after the militant group launched an attack from the east of Homs. Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said this attack is the Islamic State’s biggest assault since the Syrian army recaptured Palmyra at the end of March.
