ISIS claims responsibility for Saudi mosque attack

Two people were killed Monday in the suicide bombing at a mosque in the Saudi city of Najran.

The Saudi interior ministry said that the attack occurred when worshipers were leaving the mosque after performing sunset prayer, adding that the bomber detonated his explosive belt.

The IS jihadist group claimed responsibility for the attack on what it said was an Ismaili Shiite mosque.

Half of Najran’s population is Ismaili Shiite Muslims, and Shiite mosques in Saudi Arabia have been targeted in similar attacks in recent months.
