Israel suspends Palestinians’ entry permits after Tel Aviv attack

Israel has tightened security and banned Palestinians from entering Jerusalem from the West Bank following Wednesday’s deadly shooting in Tel Aviv. The move prevented many worshippers from going to the city for the first Friday prayers of Ramadan. The United Nations’ top human rights official said Israel’s cancellation of entry permits for Palestinians is banned under international law, and may amount to collective punishment. Wednesday’s attack left four people dead and six others wounded.
