Claiming that Asaram Bapu was not responsible for the attacks on the witnesses associated with his case, his spokesperson Neelam Dubey today alleged that there was a ”conspiracy to ensure that Bapu remains inside the jail.” “Apparently an investigating officer on this case has received a threat mail which is written on our letter-head. Why would we use our letterhead to send a threat mail? This makes it obvious that this is a conspiracy to ensure that Bapu remains inside the jail,” she said. Saumya

Asaram has been lodged in Jodhpur’s jail since September 2013. Two months later, he, along with his son Narayan Sai, was booked for the alleged rape of two sisters at Asaram’s Surat ashram. Nine witnesses have been attacked so far, and three of them have died. Many of the witnesses have claimed that they have been targeted by Asaram’s men for speaking up against him.
