Japan FM Kishida seeks security talks with Manila

Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida has met Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte and Foreign Minister Perfecto Yasay in the southern Philippine city of Davao. Kishida said before his visit that he planned to discuss maritime security cooperation, including sending patrol vessels to the Philippines.  

Fumio Kishida is the current Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan. He was named foreign minister in the second Cabinet of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in December 2012.
