Japan PM urges U.S. to examine spying allegations

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Tuesday urged the United States to check whether its alleged spying on the Japanese government and companies was true.
He said Japan would find it extremely regrettable if the alleged spying were true.
According to the WikiLeaks website, the eavesdropping dated back to Abe’s first government in 2006.
Japan is the latest NSA spying target among U.S. allies to be uncovered by WikiLeaks.
