Japan to work closely with US to resolve tensions in East China Sea

Japan plans to work closely with the United States to resolve tensions with Beijing over China’s recent patrols in the East China Sea. Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga made the announcement at a press conference on Friday. However, Japan said it did not regard Russia’s military presence near the the Diaoyu islands as a violation of international maritime law.
