Japanese DM: Japan to increase presence in South China Sea

Japan’s newly-appointed Defense Minister Tomomi Inada has met with her US counterpart Ash Carter at the Pentagon. The two agreed that the DPRK’s latest nuclear test and missile launches pose a great threat to Japan and the US. Inada said Japan will enhance information sharing with the US and South Korea, and will push for dialogue with China to tackle the threat. She added that Japan plans to increase its presence in the South China Sea.
