Japanese government leaders deny urging Fukushima meltdown cover-up

Japanese former government leaders have rejected suggestions that they were behind a suspected meltdown cover-up when the Fukushima nuclear disaster was unfolding in 2011. A report compiled by an investigation panel said Masataka Shimizu, former president of Tokyo Electric Power Company, had instructed employees not to use the term “meltdown.”
