Japan’s 192nd session of the temporary Parliament has opened in Tokyo. High on the agenda are amendments to the country’s constitution and the ratification of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact, or TPP. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe vowed at the session to swiftly approve the TPP, and find new avenues for economic growth using his “Abenomics” stimulus plan. The 66-day legislative session is set to run until November 30 with the three-day parliament inquiry starting Tuesday.
