Japan’s exports hit record low in January

Japan swung back to record high trade deficits as exports plunged in January. The monthly deficit came in at 5.7 billion US dollars. Overall exports slid almost 13 percent from a year ago. The weak figures dealt another blow to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s bid to counter deflation and kick-start the world’s third largest economy.
