Japan’s Kumamoto Castle, Aso Shrine destroyed by quake

So far, 41 people have been killed after two devastating earthquakes rocked southern Japan on Thursday and Saturday. The quakes have taken their toll on some of Japan’s historical landmarks. The 17th-Century Kumamoto Castle has been left badly damaged, while the towering wooden entrance gate and hall of the Aso Shrine in Kyushu has completely collapsed.
