JD(U)’s Manorama Devi’s Bail Plea Rejected

A local court in Gaya on Friday (May 27) rejected the bail petition of JD(U) MLC Manorama Devi, mother of the prime accused in Aditya Sachdeva murder, in a liquor bottle recovery case. District and Sessions Judge Sajal Mandalwar rejected Manorama Devi’s bail petition. On May 24, the judge had sought the case diary and proceedings of ACJM court in connection with the bail plea of the JD(U) MLC. The ACJM court had rejected her bail plea on May 19. Devi’s counsel prayed for her bail on the ground that she neither drinks nor was caught drinking by the police during the raid at her residence in search of her absconding son Rocky Yadav last week. She was booked under the Excise Act after liquor bottles were recovered from her residence at A P Colony of the town during the police raid following which she went into hiding for a couple of days before surrendering in a court on May 17.
