Jo Cox murder: Suspect Thomas Mair appears in court

The man accused of murdering British Member of Parliament Jo Cox has appeared in court for the first time. 52-year-old Thomas Mair has been charged with offenses including murder, grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm. When asked to confirm his name at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London, Mair replied “Death to traitors, freedom for Britain.” Police have said that Mair’s possible far-right links are a priority line of inquiry.
