Junker offers quota plan to address EU’s migrant crisis

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker put forward a new quota plan on Wednesday to address the deepening migrant crisis that the European Union faces. Under the proposals, EU member states will accept their share of an additional 120,000 refugees, building upon proposed quotas to relocate 40,000 refugees set out in May. The proposals, which will be discussed by the EU’s Home Affairs Ministers on September 14th, come after thousands of Syrian migrants pushed north through Europe over the past few days.
