Kambli Denies Allegations

Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli on Sunday (August 30) denied charges levelled by his domestic help against him and his wife Andrea, for allegedly criminally intimidating her. “Whatever allegations she has put are completely false. I will never raise hand on anybody, any woman,” he said. Kambli also denied the maid’s claim that he had not paid her wages, and that the couple misbehaved with her when she asked for it. “I pay all my servants,” he added. A first information report (FIR) has been registered with the Bandra Police against Kambli and his wife Andrea on Saturday by their 30-year-old female baby caretaker – Soni Sarsal- for alleged criminal intimidation and keeping her confined for three days at their Bandra flat when she demanded for her past two years pending salary and allow her to go to her house. In this regard, a case under IPC sections 343 (wrongful confinement), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) has been registered.
