Kenya flower producers are optimistic about the export of flowers to China. Significantly, the huge population in China is expected to grow the export of flowers with their growing demand. Jane Ngige, The CEO of Kenya Flower Council (KFL) told CNC that there has been significant growth of flower exports to the Asia economic giant in the last 2 to 3 years.
Although currently reports show that over 70% of Kenya’s cut flowers are exported to Europe. However Jane says this is likely to change in the near future, as demands rises in the East. However, there are some challenges and requirements that Kenya needs to meet to get an advantage over other exporters.
