Kenya Railway Authority backup China-Built SGR

The 13.8 billion US dollars standard gauge railway project which aim at boosting trade and cutting cost of transport across eastern Africa, will link Kenya’s Indian Ocean port of Mombasa to the capital Nairobi, then on to Uganda has drawn a lot of controversy.

However reports show that some of the residents leaving around the area where the railway line will pass through have complained of being displaced. Now the Kenya railways official have dismissed this report. In an interview with CNC, The Managing Director of Kenya Railways Atanas Maina said that a lot of study was done before commencing the project.
