Kenyan president cites security concerns for refugee camp closure

The Kenyan government says it plans to close the Dadaab refugee camp by September. It claims the camp, the largest in the world, is an “existential security threat” and that it harbors terrorists. Dadaab primarily houses Somalis displaced by decades of war. Now around 350,000 of them are facing the prospect of relocation.
