Killing of Kurdish lawyer sparks anger in Turkey

The killing of Tahir Elci, also head of the Bar Association in Turkey’s Diyarbakir Province, has sparked anger among the public in the country.

Turkish police on Saturday used tear gas and rubber bullets to break up protestors in Istanbul.

Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu did not rule out a planned assassination, but he said the lawyer might also have been caught up in fighting between “terrorists” and the police.
