Kuwaiti opposition, allies win nearly half seats in parliament

In Kuwait, opposition groups and their allies have bagged 24 out of parliament’s 50 seats, raising fears of fresh political wrangling in the oil-rich country. The Muslim Shiite minority was already reduced to six seats from nine in the previous house. Only one woman was elected and a third of the fresh parliament are new, young members.
