Lalit-Dushyant deal a hawala scam: Ashok Gehlot

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today said that the business deal between Enforcement Directorate-accused Lalit Modi and Dushyant Singh, Chief Minister Vasundhura Raje’s son, is a “hawala scam” and that the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley should examine this transaction. Gehlot also said that he believed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was facing ‘testing times’ over the Lalitgate issue. Sources have said that Enforcement Directorate, while on the trail of ₹21 crore that Lalit Modi’s Ananda Heritage Hotels Private Limited (AHHPL) received from an unknown Mauritius-based entity Wilton Investment Ltd, stumbled upon a transaction where a part of this money was used to pay Singh’s Niyant Heritage Hotels Pvt Ltd (NHHPL). The ED is probing the Mauritius money trail between AHHPL and NHHPL. Times Now has exposed that Vasundhara Raje had signed a secret testimony to the UK authorities that supported Lalit’s stay in the UK, even when the Enforcement Directorate was probing cases of financial irregularities against him.
