Lalu’s Son Tejashwi To Be Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister?

Tejaswi Yadav, son of former Bihar chief ministers Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, could become the deputy chief minister of Bihar. According to the reports, the RJD legislator party will elect Tejaswi as its leader. Earlier, the Grand Alliance had elected Nitish Kumar as its leader and Kumar will take oath as chief minister for the fifth time on November 20. The Grand Alliance comprises three parties RJD (80 MLAs), JD-U (71) and Congress (27). The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Patna Gandhi Maidan at 2pm on Friday. Meanwhile, the Congress is eyeing the post of assembly speaker. “The Congress would lobby with the top brass of JD(U) and RJD for the speaker’s post, which is considered non-political,” said a senior state Congress leader. Congress sources said the name of nine-time MLA Sadanand Singh is doing the rounds for the Speaker’s post. Singh held this post from 2000 to 2005 when Congress had joined the Rabri Devi government. However, it won’t be easy for the Congress to bag the Speaker’s post, which is being eyed by both RJD and JD(U) this time around.
