Leaders from Australia and Papua New Guinea are meeting to decide the fate of more than 800 asylum seekers. Last week, Papua New Guinea’s supreme court ruled that Australia’s practice of holding asylum seekers in detention on Manus Island was unconstitutional. That’s been followed by increased protests in Australia, and increased reports of self harm on the country’s other offshore detention centre. Greg Navarro has more.
