Li Jianguo, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress, elaborated on the draft law on charity during the second plenary meeting of the Fourth Session of the 12th NPC at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday. The draft law, the first such legislation in China to regulate activities of charities, was submitted to China’s national legislature on Wednesday. It aims to solicit the help of good Samaritans in realizing China’s target of alleviating poverty by 2020.
