Lion and dragon dance help Chileans feel air of Chinese Spring Festival

Chinese lion and dragon dance heated up the streets of Chile’s Pacific coastal city of Vina del Mar on January 17, heralding the arrival of Spring Festival, or the lunar calendar Chinese New Year falling on February 8.

This spectacle performance was a must-see during Spring Festival in China, with the frolic between the two iconic figures signifying auspiciousness and success in its tradition.

The street show was part of the week-long celebration of Spring Festival, which was sponsored by the Confucius Institute in Chile and approved by the local government in order to promote bilateral exchange prior to the most important festival in Chinese tradition.
