The catastrophic flood devastating Louisiana is now the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Hurricane Sandy four years ago. Thousands of residents in Louisiana have lost everything they own and badly in need of help. It is anticipated to cost at least $30 million and the figure may grow as the scope and magnitude of the devastation are further measured. At least 13 people have died across the region. At least 20 parishes were declared as disaster areas. With more rain forecast, the destruction could mount.
