If your pockets are deeper than most, then you may want to consider Beijing as your next holiday destination. Private Great Wall helicopter tours, green tea ceremonies, and roast duck feasts are all a part of the booming luxury tourism industry in the Chinese capital. New upscale, hip, and stylish five-star hotels, such as the NUO Hotel, the Opposite House, and the Rosewood, have opened their doors to cater to the world’s ultra-high net worth individuals. More and more online luxury travel agencies, such as Zanadu, are also tapping into the segment at the top end of the scale. Last year, Beijing welcomed 273 million tourists, compared to 261 million in 2014, while tourism revenues hit 460.7 billion yuan.
