An earthquake measuring magnitude-5.8 struck off northeastern Japan on Wednesday evening. According to the US Geological Survey, the quake was centered about 100 kilometers east of Sendai, Honshu, which is near the place where a devastating quake and tsunami struck in March 2011. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
