Major airlines avoid Sinai after crash of Russian plane

Pending probe into the crash of a Russian airliner on Sinai, Europe’s two largest airlines Air France-KLM and Lufthansa said Sunday they would avoid flying over the Sinai peninsula.
Other airline companies may follow suit out of similar fears.
As some Islamic State militants claimed responsibility for the crash of the Russian flight, pundits in the region and outside have doubted whether these militants had the capable missiles.
These militants, however, proclaimed to have downed an Egyptian helicopter in the past.
