Malaysia celebrates pandas’ birthday

On Thursday, Malaysia National Zoo held a birthday party for giant pandas Liang Liang and Xing Xing.

During the celebration, male giant panda Xing Xing enjoyed a big ice cake, which broke the record of the country’s biggest birthday cake.

Female giant panda Liang Liang, who gave birth to a cub in Malaysia on Aug. 18, was absent, as she had to take care of the cub.

At the same day, Malaysia Post issued 10,000 sets of giant panda themed commemorative post cards to celebrate their 9th birthday.

Liang Liang and Xing Xing arrived in Malaysia last year on a 10-year loan for the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia.
