Malaysian badminton star Lee Chong Wei retires after 19 years

Malaysian badminton star Lee Chong Wei has announced his retirement after a 19-year career. The former world number one, who was diagnosed with nose cancer last July, said it was time to heed his doctor’s advice and get some rest. The 36-year-old had previously planned to bow out of the sport after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
