Meet the astronauts flying China’s Shenzhou-11 spaceship before they start their journey

Following the press conference of the Shenzhou-11 launch, astronauts Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong, who were named to fly the spacecraft and take residency at the Tiangong-2 space lab, made their press debut at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, northwest China’s Gobi desert, on Sunday morning. They will undergo a 33-day trip to space, doubling the national record for stay in space. The takeoff has been scheduled on October 17 at 7:30 a.m. BJT.
