Memorial train embarks its journey from Moscow to Vladivostok for Russia’s V-day celebrations

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu saw off the launch of the Army of Victory memorial train from Moscow, ahead of its journey to Vladivostok where it is set to arrive for Victory Day celebrations on May 9.

Shoigu said “I am very eager that a maximum number of people from all the towns see this train, see and touch the history of which our country and army are justly proud.”

The train will travel across the country making over 24 stops in various towns and cities along its route so that visitors can inspect what is essentially a moveable museum.
