Countless Chinese citizens are returning to their jobs in big cities on Saturday, the sixth day of the Lunar New Year, which is also the last day of the week-long national holiday. Rail authorities estimate that over 10 million rail journeys will be made Saturday, the peak of this year’s Spring Festival travel rush. Over nine million trips were made on Friday on the country’s railway network, up from Thursday’s 7.9 million, which is a 7% increase from the same day last year. The CRC added 658 passenger trains on Friday to handle the surplus.
