Mine collapse triggers massive land sinking

A massive land sinking happened in a county in east China’s Shandong Province on Sunday, triggering a tremor equivalent to an earthquake of 3.1 Richter scale.

59 houses have been damaged and people around the sinking area have been evacuated without any hurt.

An initial investigation found that collapse of a mined area caused the land sinking of an area of 600 meters north to south and 500 meters east to west.
