Mitsubishi to offer apology, compensation to Chinese WWII victims

Three organizations representing Chinese people forced into slave labor during WWII by Japan’s Mitsubishi Material Corporation have issued a joint statement on Monday, saying they are open to the apology and compensation package offered by the Japanese company. Mitsubishi reportedly said it would offer compensation of 100 thousand Chinese yuan, or about 16 thousand US dollars, for each Chinese worker or their families.
