Mitsubishi’s war compensation helps Japan face up history

The Japanese company Mitsubishi Materials Corp.has agreed to compensate nearly 4,000 Chinese nationals for forcing them to work in labor camps during World War II.

Lin Boyao, an overseas Chinese, who has been championing the campaign for the rights of the WWII Chinese laborers said the deal between the Japanese enterprise and forced WWII Chinese laborers on June 1 is worth being written into textbooks as it helps the Japanese society face up to history.
