Monkey stamp in hot demand, price soar

China officially issued the Lunar New Year stamp for the Year of Monkey on Jan. 5.

The stamp is in hot demand shortly after it came out.

Now, the price of the new monkey stamp series has reached nearly 1000 yuan, about 160 US dollars, more than 20 times increase than its face value.

The Monkey stamps are designed by Huang Yongyu, a contemporary renowned painter.
