Mugabe: China extracting African raw materials “distorted, imaginative creations”

The notion that China-Africa ties are driven by China’s desire to extract raw materials in Africa is “distorted, imaginative creation”, says Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe at the opening session of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Johannesburg meeting is the second summit of the 15-year-old FOCAC, which groups China, 50 African countries that have established diplomatic ties with China, and the Commission of the African Union.
