Multi-ethnic public square dancing thrives in SW China

Public square dancing – or Guangchangwu in Chinese – is popular across China. It has also been a cause of controversy in recent years. But despite questions over its fitness benefits and noisiness, Guangchangwu continues to thrive. In Yajiang county of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in southwestern China’s Sichuan Province, people from different ethnic groups are seen dancing Guangchangwu joyfully together.
