Muscovites share “overcooked” giant pancake to mark end of Maslenitsa

Hundreds of Muscovites celebrated the last day of of the traditional sun-festival Maslenitsa(also known as Pancake Week) on Sunday in central Moscow’s Hermitage Garden by sharing a giant pancake (blini) of 3 meters in diameter, which is said to be the biggest of its kind ever cooked in 10 years.

The pancake turned out to be “overcooked” due to the strong charcoal fire. However, the crowd still lined up for a share of it, hoping the traditional food will bring them good luck.
