Music for milk: Kenyan farmers use television to improve output

Kenya is the second largest dairy producer and consumer in sub-saharan Africa. However, compared to European cattle, which produce about 35 liters of milk a day, Kenyan cattle only produce an average of four liters of milk a day. A new set of farmers are trying to change this by introducing better milking practices. Peter Mathenge, a dairy farmer, says his cows produce an average of 35 liters of milk per day because he keeps them relaxed, entertaining them with television and music.
