Myanmar drug report wins silver medal at 2016 New York Festivals for Int’l Film and TV

Heroin addiction is a major problem in Myanmar. To learn more about the crisis, our correspondent Dusita Saokaew traveled to Myitkina — in Myanmar’s Kachin state. Myitkina is plagued by what community leaders consider a major heroin epidemic. Despite being illegal, an increasing number of farmers have started planting the devastating cash crop. Her ground-breaking report won her a silver medal at this year’s New York Festivals for Films and TV.
