Myanmar’s government signed a ceasefire agreement with eight of the country’s 15 highly armed ethnic groups on Thursday. President Thein Sein led the process as he signed the deal in the capital, Naypyitaw. Representatives from China, India, the European Union and United Nations were among the witnesses of the signing.
