Myanmar’s State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi to visit China to boost ties

Myanmar’s State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi will arrive in Beijing on Wednesday for an official visit at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. The three-day trip makes her the first leader from Myanmar to visit China since the new government was formed in late March. China is Myanmar’s top trading partner, and a key source of investment. To boost regional economic development, China has launched multiple cooperative programs in the region.
