The Windhoek Industrial and Agricultural Show (WIAS) was kicks off from 30 Sept. to 8 Oct. 2016,Windhoek Show is the primary and biggest annual event in Namibia. The show combines an agricultural exhibition with a range of industrial and retail offerings and entertainment.
The first Windhoek Show was held in 1899 when the country, then known as German South-West Africa, was still a colony of Imperial Germany. In 1966 approximately 27,000 visitors attended the show. It was held since then annually.
National and World Championships of small and large stock animal breeds are held on a regular basis during the annual Windhoek Show. International exhibitors came from South Africa, Botswana, Kenya and as far as Finland.
