Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif will have their first official meeting on Friday (July 10) since May last year in Ufa, both countries confirmed. Indian officials said they were expecting a review of overall ties with substantive dialogue between the 2 leaders. The meeting will take place on the SCO sidelines at 9.45am IST. Pakistan said it had had responded positively to a suggestion “from the other side” for a meeting between the two leaders on the sidelines of the Summits. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif to meet tomorrow morning in Ufa, Russia, said MEA spokesman. The Pakistan foreign office spokesperson added that it has always been Sharif’s policy to seek cordial and cooperative ties with all neighbouring countries including India. It was in the pursuit of this objective that the Prime Minister would be meeting the Indian Prime Minister for a comprehensive exchange on all issues of common interest,” said the official.
